Famous Alliance “Allstarz” Revisit Orkfia Classic

Touted as the age of all attackers by some, and taunted as a poor attempt at just that by others *cough, ozzie*, the age finally saw some big excitement as the second ranked alliance, #34, aka Allstarz, stepped up to the plate with a viable age domination strategy that was fully implemented.

Editor’s Note
The last time the Allstarz played Classic was many years ago, before Alliances at War was released. The team currently consists of many of the original Allstarz and players such as: Twinnie, Xenomorph, Reorx, Pao, Scarlo, Mauler, Myelou, Odin, Perkalov, Trungster, Agelage, RiQ

War Report
The age started off as usual as a battleground for attacker domination. Alliance 11 quickly gained a foothold with their fast moving olegs, a couple of muscle-bound dwarves, and a High Elf and Undead. The second place alliance, Allstarz (#34), had lots of dwarves, but seemed oddly reserved about using them and fell significantly behind rather quickly. About 5 days into the age however, Allstarz made a move, having all their 7 dwarves and 1 viking pump nearly all offense for a planned offensive. Over a period of two days, Allstarz ransacked alliance 11, stealing literally thousands of acres. After the dust had settled, Allstarz sat on top with a significant lead.

All was quiet for a while…
Several days later, the silence erupted into a battle roar from the direction of alliance 11. Sneak attack!! The counter attack was quick and vicious, and consisted of sending a multitude of dragon apprentice spells at the Allstarz. Many brave Allstarz heroes died in the attack. 11 had regained their foothold on the top rank and the Allstarz retreated to lick their wounds.

Two full weeks into the age and about a week after getting attacked by 11, the Allstarz decided to plan their next move. Twinnie, Allstarz evul mastermind, plotted out a scenario which would not only take out alliance 11, but would destroy any hint of a threat to the Allstarz complete domination for the rest of the age.

The plans were laid, attackers prepped to pump, mages and thieves prepared to train and build. The stage was set for the most vicious bloodbath that Orkfia Classic had seen in several ages.

At 06:54 server time, on July 6th, Allstarz declared war on the top alliance, #11. Not six minutes later 11′s large dwarf, Shyssiryxius, was dead and buried. That same tick Allstarz dwarf grabbed 11′s High Elf, Janoi Netovi, for 365 acres. The next tick, 08:00, Allstarz landed two more kills. 11′s tribes were dropping like flies. Because of the large loss of land by alliance 11, the war automatically ended in their defeat. 1 hour, 6 minute war. Allstarz – 3, Alliance #11 – 0

Editor’s Note:
To add insult to injury, and because Allstarz are evil like that, 2 hours after the war ended they ended the life of tribe Janoi Netovi. Allstarz – 4, Alliance #11 – 0

After 4 kills to the top alliance, Allstarz started to eye the landscape for additional threats. Alliance 27, with several large and threatening attackers, were next on the list. At 15:00 ST, #27′s large raven fell from the sky. 7 hours later the largest Mori hai in the game, also in alliance 27, breathed its last. 3 afters after that kill, another was landed on w/e, a large oleg hai in #27. 7 hours after that Futsu-Nushi-no-Kami the games largest Oleg lie dead.

Allstarz had blown through 27′s four top attackers, killing all of them, in only 17 hours. Allstarz – 4, Alliance #27 – 0

During these battle maneuvers, alliance 11′s stalwart oleg, The Old Barbarian, continued to attack into the Allstarz. The Allstarz returned at 13:00 ST, only 5 hours after finishing with alliance 27, to finish him off. Much to Allstarz disappointment, and amusement, the very next hour The Old Barbarian was able to use the hour change button to come out of protection and did so by attacking the Allstarz small and inactive spirit. Touche Old Barbarian, touche…

An hour after that the Allstarz killed 11′s remaining oleg, Khelavaster. Allstarz – 6, Alliance #11 – 0.

After that things progressed quickly.

Allstarz killed alliance 23′s nasty looking nazgul and over plump undead both within 3 ticks. Allstarz – 2, Alliance #23 – 0

Several hours later, Alliance 36′s two spirits were stunted as their markets were arriving for an explore. While both on mage level 6, eager for cash and land, they died within 4 ticks of each other. As they say, pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. Allstarz – 2, Alliance #36 – 0

The spree ended with Alliance 13. They lost 2 tribes, the last one at 9:00 ST on July 9th. Allstarz – 2, Alliance #13 – 0

The war began at 6:54 on July 6th and the conquest for domination ended at 9:00 st on July 9th. After 3 days of blood and glory the Allstarz went from 2nd to the top, and had eliminated any threat to their dominance. Overall score Allstarz – 16, Else – 0

goodjob fillibuster but who told u that we finished by now?^^

  2. Scarlo says:

It’s possible that my evil counterpart was giving disinformation, ofc.

  3. Allobash says:

So.. #34 vs. the rest? (Will this be considered co-op, no info shared, we’re simple retalling)

    =)

  4. Allobash says:

Don’t think you’ve finished yet.. just from my alli another 2 bit the dust.

    AllstarZ 18
    Rest 0

    Cmon everyone! COUNTER!

  5. Scarlo says:

As long as no two alliances focus on the same tribe during the same times, I believe that would be ok ;)

  6. taNk says:

You’re swaying the numbers in your favor! TECHNICALLY you should go back to the age start, making it:

    AllstarZ-6, Alliance #11-3

    and

    AllstarZ-18?, Rest-3

    Just keeping you honest ;)

  7. taNk says:

    Well written report though. :P

  8. Scarlo says:

Much more fun when the books are cooked. -_-

    Which tribe are you, btw?

  9. Bolle says:

*cough* viable age domination strategy *cough*

Oh really, what strategy? Oh, you mean the dwarves + spirits… yeah, what a strategy… good thinking, too! Nobody could think of that, everybody thought dwarves sucked big time! And anyway, why would you be as inventive as to take something DIFFERENT then dwarf + spirit? You gotta defeat the 20 other tribes after all, nothing else…

Rest of the war report is of course the consequences of the dwarf + spirit strat. We had hoped on an interesting age, but for the fourth time in a row a bunch of lamers (I participated in such a bunch last age) took dwarf + spirit… *yawn*

  10. Scarlo says:

Better call in the Waaambulance to pick up Bolle, another obvious victim of this rounds fallout.

While I agree that there’s often one dominant alliance, I will say that 11 presented some good competition this age.

The domination strat wasn’t to just gain control using dwarf spirit, but to eliminate all potential threats. I believe Countdown did something similar several rounds back (which again, no one enjoyed while being on the receiving end).

  11. Bolle says:

That’s what I mean; Countdown did something similar several rounds back, and they actually repeated it last age. And this is the third time the same bloody lame and boring strat is used, a strat that can’t be countered as long as the playerbase is low.

As a matter of fact I’m still alive and kicking, as I have been doing all age (especially the asses of certain dead dwarves).

  12. Scarlo says:

Maybe it’s time for 6 tribe alliances ;)

  13. Perkalov says:

    Yes Bolle…
Stop whining of getting pwnzored :P
You guys where full of Olegs, dwarfs and then some other attackers (Pretty much the same setup as we have).

Thou I will agree to this. Its given that one alliance with this setup will win the age as long as the playerbase is this easy to overveiw.

Making the alliances smaller wont do the trick any longer, Scarlo. The problem now is that you only need to kill around 10 tribes, then you’re pretty much in the free.

  14. Twinnie says:

Our our strategy was 8 attackers 4 spirits, you guys just killed the attackers and gave us a standard lineup ^^

besides we were asked for an attacker age and we did it =)

You guys tried something similar with faster attackers, it’s just unfortunate that they got pwned cuz we play them better ^^

P.S. This strat can be countered quite easily =)

  15. Bolle says:

We didn’t try something, we just all took an attacker we liked to play. You didn’t play better, you took dwarves, and dwarves have mines and thus more income which means that you defeat the other 10 attackers (who are not dwarf). It’s not that you ‘play better’, it’s just that you took the best race.

P.S. the best counter of the strat is 8 vikings, because it completely owns all fast attackers :)

  16. Twinnie says:

Um let me think about this, you guys had 2 dwarves, they kinda pwned themselves without having us to gang bang them. Oh and your Olegs: the best strategy with Olegs is obviously to harpies abuse on the dwarves… Oh but wait when the dwarves train off and grab me down I got nothing to retal with but thats okay, I’ll just consider myself an Oleg explorer.

Dwarves are far from being overpowered like they were back then. The mines help, but dwarves are nothing without their weaps.

P.S. the way vikings are nowadays with their ridiculous def specs, it just ruins the purpose of that race

  17. Bolle says:

vikings are semi-fast attackers now, especially in large numbers and with a low playerbase. You should think about it.

Yes, olegs have to grow using harpies, and when they do they get pwned by dwarves. It’s good to see you realize that. I’ll leave it to you to draw the right conclusions.

2 hour build time (of weaps) are a good addition to the dwarves, but the mines make them ridiculously strong.

  18. Twinnie says:

Mass viks has always worked late age especially that they are much faster now and in a decent pack they can take over top attackers within 1-2 weeks depending on the competition.

It’s just sad that all races are becoming more and more off/def specs which removes the difficulty of playing them ^^

  19. Scarlo says:

Indeed. If it were up to me I’d see some major race changes which made each one a bit more unique from the next. As it is, the line up is pretty boring indeed.

Gone are the days of changes being part of the game. I would really like to see some solid, differentiation this coming age with the changes, but with the limitation upon coding maybe we can just rename all the races and do a bunch of off/def/elite point changing along with new costing. At least that would mix things up.

Check out http://www.entropyonline.com for our pet project. We actually have an active coder there who’s willing to make necessary changes and improve the game – which is uh… kinda necessary.
