Age Changes – ORKFiA Classic Age 40

Breaking the Silence

Been a very silent month here on the Orkfia Portal, but theres been just to much to do both ingame and afk.

Dates for Age 40 is:

Start – night between 5th and 6th june at 00:00ST, first update at 01:00ST

Age lasts 4 weeks.

There will be a updatebutton for a minimum of 48hours, followed by a 24hours window until the age starts (meaning soft reset -> updatebutton -> soft reset -> 24hours -> age start).

So here it is, the changes for ORKFiA Classic Age 40.

Layout

A new layout is to be launched, its been mentioned a few times in the past but now its finally here.
We are increasing the width another 50px, increasing the size of the header which btw is brand new, designed by Sindustry from Visual Industries. The menu system has been improved for cellphone users who in the past got sent wrong since the menu dropdown links has to be clicked for them to open.
Also moving away from the fixed “iframe” layout that we had for so long, and I promise you wont get delayed from checking the menu cause of scrolling, with the new width we are going 3 columns for most data instead of the old 2 column layout, in the case of a actual long page we’ve added a js function which gives you a link to the top down on the right (gets visable once you scrolled more then 200px).

There are small tweaks done to almost every page, but apart from that there is three new pages added:

Orkfia 101 which is a new basic guide with short tips, hints etc to get new players going, the current Guide is quite a mouthfull for new players so this is a way to give crucial information to new players. It placed under the “Help” menu.

Orkfia Chat, a information page about communication, irc, links to orkfia chatrooms, a orkfia classic mibbit chat etc. Placed under the new menu named “Communication” (which is also where the pm and forum links now are placed).

Vote for Orkfia, this page hosts all the different links for various voting sites where you can let ppl know of Orkfia Classic, you will get rewards for voting on some of them (information about that is on that page), this page also displays a list of all the sponsors.

Everbloom successmessage changed from blabla to “Your mage has generated (xxx) acres for your tribe to thrive on!” – contribution from Michele.

80% chance FO and IS gets added to intelligence:P

Sponsorship

For $2 per age you get access the following extra features:

• Your own nickname@orkfia.biz. <-- Accessable from mail.orkfia.biz
• A all in one selfspell.
• Access to the Targetfinder.
• During protection you can use the updatebutton for the first 24hours meaning you can do you first half at any given time during those 24hours.
• More stuff to come.

The intention with having sponsorship is never to create a unbalanced nor unfair situation, the bonuses given from sponsorship will purely be either timesaving or stuff that doesnt affect the ingame. Orkfia Classic will always be available to play for free and still be able to get the most out of it, it might just take alittle bit longer to complete the tasks.

Race changes

Spirit

• +15% resistance to magic changed to +10%.
• Poltergeist (1/7) – 920cr changed to 945cr.

Dragon

• Baby Dragon (1/1) – 30cr changed to (0/2).
• Red Dragon (50/15) – 1125cr changed to (50/10).

Mori Hai

• Ogre (4/5) – 600cr changed to 650cr.

Probably forgotten something but hopefully thats all, this age the focus has been on the new layout, for next age the focus will be on the spells and ops, pestilence for example has been around way to long without being fixed;)

   think a comment is needed about the updatebutton for sponsors.

   Basicly your tribe is paused during the first 24hours, the only updates you get is through the updatebutton, once the 24hours has passed you get unpaused, any remaining ticks of those 24 gets done and you continue protection like everyone else, meaning everyone gets oop at the same time.
