Forum Upgrades
Hey
First a quick notice, ORKFiA Classic is now 24hours into the new age and in two hours sweden and quite a few other countries will face time change due to summertime, the time will change from 02ST to 03ST instantly, people has been worried that this might cause some unexpected bonuses for people being online, but Im told that everyone will get their updates and we’ll keep on track as planned, only thing is that it’ll be quite hard to do something between “02ST and 03ST” since its changing in a sec;)
Now then, the portal forum has been upgraded with a new forum style, its still not 100% complete but its launchable, the forum now also got a shoutbox and a arcade.
This is one of few upgrades taking place on the portal, the arcade currently got nine games but a wish list has been added to the site development forum and I’ll keep adding cool games, so now if you just did a tick ingame you can spend some time playing and chatting on the portal before the next tick;)

Post 101
Hey there.
Im happy to announce that this is post 101 on the Orkfia Portal, yesterday we celebrated 11 months online.
Since the launch this site has gone through some major layout changes, new features has been added and in general its just grown:)
So, what now, what is the goal of the future? Well there is several goals on the to-do list and I’ll explain some of them here.
Shop. An Orkfia Portal Shop has been on the drawing board for quite some time, the goal is to sell merchandise for the Orkfian addicts may it be Aatw and/or Classic. Launch date for this isnt set but the goal is to have it launched for the one year anniversary next month. If you got any specific wishes for the content on the shop please contact me (webmaster[at]orkfia-portal.com). The basic type of products will be the type of stuff found on Cafepress.
Toolbar. This project has already been launched and I hope the quality of it has encouraged people to use it, Ive just been informed that the aatw attackcalc is showing wrong defense/offense for the Light Elf, this will be sorted ASAP (read: after this lesson). The goal of the toolbar is to through tools and information enhance the Orkfian experience and help the users. Its a ongoing progress and Im looking forward to adding more tools to help out. If you got a suggestion on how to make the toolbar even better then dont hesitate to contact me.
Orkfian Faces. This project is a extension of the original Orkfian Faces hosted on The Orkfian Times, the goal of this project is to put a face on the users you interact with in and around Orkfia. If your face isnt there yet or you want to update the picture then again dont hesitate to contact me.
These are some of the basic projects along with this blog and the forum, furthermore a gallery for banners, userbars etc etc created by the players will be added at some point, months and months ago even before the portal got launched there was a banner competition created by Scarlo, the goal is to finally finish this competition but more information about this will be posted later on.
Thats all for now, I want to thank everyone that has helped out with Orkfia, AatW, Classic, Orkfia Portal etc etc in the past, present and future, you are all needed and hopefully will this community one day grow past the small playerbase and once again be a busy place which it once was.
And once we get there we’ll just keep on growing:)

Hey everyone
It’s busy times over here, had three exams last week myself, Max our coder is busy working to make sure he got income:)
I have over time grown tired of the flaws in my design of the portal, so a few days ago I decided to just pick a nice already created theme and just go with it (with some modifications ofc) so here we are, I would love to hear your opinion about it, everything is still not completed but its close to.

Saturday News – Donations and general news
Hey there.
I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.
The Portal is constantly evolving and growing, to add some regularity to the Portal we are gonna set days for each type of article, you are already familiar with the Rear-view mirror Tuesdays, adding to the list is now Saturday News where we’ll post about the latest and coming addons/changes/etc within the games, the Portal, and everything really.
The goal is to have each day down to a category so everyone knows “Oh can’t wait tomorrow its time for a new War Report” etc.
Moving on.
This week a new forum style was added to go along with the new Orkfia-Portal layout, it’s still not 100% complete but close enough, if you happen to find some un-noticed problems with it then let us know.
A donation bar was added today on the right sidebar, this displays the % of donations we’ve reached with the 100% being the goal of a secret project that will take the portal to the next level. This project concerns the forum so it effects both pure Portal users and Orkfia Classic players, this is gonna be a major upgrade.
To this there is gonna be a few new great addons, its unfortunate that this requires money but thats how the world is today and since its just a one time payment its gonna be well spent money.
So please support the Orkfia-Portal and Orkfia Classic, every $ counts.

Hey, I hope you can’t miss the new style here on the portal.

We are now ~27 hours away from opening up registration on the Orkfia Classic Relaunch, for a small sneak peek #3.
The second building that is getting removed is Markets. The exploration cost and building cost is changed.
This was the last sneak peek before the registration opens up, stay tuned for complete Game change and Race Change list here tomorrow night.

Orkfia-Portal – Another upgrade
Hello.
Once again Im proud to say that the Portal just had another upgrade/facelift, this time it was the orkfia faces that got upgraded, still some minor stuff to sort out like proper thumbnails etc but its working alright.
Note: If your face isnt on there yeat then make your voice heard so we can add it.
The IRC widget got some more width to it now aswell.
In other news the toolbar was updated the other day, Race stats added for aatw and the one for Classic updated. The Portal IRC widget got added under the IRC button aswell.
If you wanna support Orkfia but dont really feel you wanna spend some money on us then use the toolbar as much as possible, usage, searches etc generates money for us which will be used for marketing, we are currently gaining ~$.07-$.16 every other day like shown in a previous post here on the Portal. So Support Orkfia – Use the Toolbar.

Orkfia-Portal + Chat = True
Hello there.
I have seen it on various places with various reasons, people that claim that dont want/can use a irc client (mIRC mostly). Now here is the solution. Added to the menu is now a chat button that leads to a ajax irc widget here on the portal.
All you need to do is push it and the enter desired nickname and voila you’ll get connected to #orkfia @ irc.netgamers.org which is the official irc channel for Orkfia.
While trying to sort a good color combination for it there is still some colors to be sorted so if you notice anything that looks bad with it let me know:)
This is another step in bringing the community together and hopefully will this get even more people both on irc and on the portal.
